Ingredients for making Sticky Rice in a Rice Cooker:
- 2 cups of glutinous rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Instructions to make Sticky Rice:
- Rinse the glutinous rice with cold water until the water runs clear. This step is important to remove excess starch from the rice and prevent it from becoming too sticky.
- Add the rinsed glutinous rice to the rice cooker pot.
- Add 2 cups of water to the rice cooker pot and mix in 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Stir the rice and water mixture gently to ensure the salt is well-distributed.
- Put the lid on the rice cooker and turn it on to the regular white rice setting.
- Once the rice cooker switches to the warm setting, let the rice sit for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the steam to further cook the rice and make it sticky.
- After the additional 10-15 minutes, fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
